These are very special tribute race events, saluting the classic Mini and the men and women who raced them from the early 1960's to the present day. The next Can-Am Mini Challenge Race will be held at Road Atlanta, September 24th - 27th, 2020. Sanctioned by Historic Sportscar Racing and held in conjunction with the Fall Historics, this race will feature the "Ed Spreen Cup Race", to commemorate Ed Spreen's C-Sedan win in 1970. In the spirit of the events, only classic race-prepared Minis and Mini-powered variants will be accepted, with a logbook issued by a recognized vintage racing organization (FIA, SCCA, VMC, etc.), providing HSR safety requirements are met. International cars and drivers are welcome to apply; acceptance of car/credentials is on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, cars must be well presented. For eligibility questions, please contact Mike Kearney.
All participants/entrants in this event must have current Competition Licensing from their respective racing organizations, along with a current Racing Medical. Licensing from accredited Vintage organizations is preferred, however licenses from organizations such as SCCA, FIA, etc. are acceptable. Rookies and drivers that have not re-activated their competition licensing will not be eligible for this event. Anyone who is currently on the VMC infraction list with a long term suspension, short term suspension, or on probation will not be eligible for entry.
